Residents and travelers in the Bitterroot/Sapphire Mountains and Potomac/Seeley Lake Region are advised to prepare for winter weather conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Missoula, MT, effective from 6 PM Saturday, October 9th, until 6 PM MDT Sunday, October 10th.

This advisory indicates that snow is expected, with total accumulations of up to 3 inches. Winds are anticipated to gust as high as 35 mph. The affected areas include Lolo Pass, Highway 83 from Seeley Lake to Condon, I-90 East from Missoula to Bearmouth, Highway 93 from Sula to Lost Trail Pass, and Highway 200 from Bonner to Greenough.

The NWS warns of slippery road conditions. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution while traveling. For current road conditions, call 511. Pedestrians should be prepared for slippery surfaces; watch your first few steps on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways, as these surfaces could be icy and increase the risk of falls and injury.
