Haines City residents can join a series of events celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s enduring legacy. The Haines City Northeast Revitalization Group and the City of Haines City are co-hosting the commemoration.
Dr. King, a Baptist minister and social activist, championed nonviolent protest to end legal segregation in the United States. His leadership earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. The planned events reflect on his contributions to civil rights and social justice, continuing Haines City's spirit of community.
