A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Northern Harrison, including Lyman and Saucier, effective immediately. The National Weather Service in New Orleans, LA, issued the warning at 4:03 AM CDT on October 8, 2026. This warning is set to expire at 12:15 PM UTC today.

Residents in affected areas should complete preparations now. Dangerous winds of strong tropical storm force are expected, with potential for gusts up to 35 mph, though the threat includes potential for winds of 58 to 73 mph. Significant damage to roofing, siding, and outbuildings is possible, along with downed trees and power outages. Roads may become impassable due to debris.

Moderate flooding from heavy rain is also expected, with 1-3 inches of rainfall, and locally higher amounts possible. Rivers and tributaries may overflow, and low-lying areas could experience rapid inundation. Evacuations and rescues are possible. Heed any flood watches and warnings. Driving conditions will become hazardous.
