Gulf Shores Justice Center Opens August 2024
Gulf Shores City Council members toured the nearly complete Justice Center in late May, viewing the 44,000-square-foot facility that will consolidate the Police Department, Municipal Courts, and detention operations.
Police Chief Dan Netemeyer showed council members the main building alongside a new Detention Facility and Police Fleet Vehicle Storage Building. Construction crews aim to finish by mid-July, leaving six weeks to install furniture, storage systems, and IT and audiovisual equipment by July 24.
The Police Department and Municipal Courts will move in during the first week of August. The consolidated facility replaces multiple inadequate locations and will streamline operations as Gulf Shores grows.
