A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Coastal Gulf area, including Port Saint Joe and Cape San Blas, by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee, FL, effective October 7 at 11:00 PM EDT. This warning signifies that tropical storm-force winds are expected within the next 36 hours, with peak winds of 30-40 mph and gusts up to 55 mph anticipated from Friday afternoon until early Saturday morning.

Life-threatening storm surge inundation of 4-7 feet above ground is possible between Friday morning and Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts should be completed soon. If evacuation orders are given for your area, leave immediately to avoid being cut off from emergency services.

Extensive flooding from an additional 4-8 inches of rain is also forecast. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to take action could result in serious injury or loss of life. There is also a potential for a few tornadoes. Be ready to shelter quickly if a tornado warning is issued.
