Strong Tropical Storm force winds are forecast from Friday evening until early Saturday morning, with peak gusts reaching 80 mph. Significant damage to roofing, siding, and mobile homes is possible. A Flood Watch is also in effect. Major flooding from 2-4 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, is anticipated. Rivers, streams, and canals may rapidly overflow, leading to widespread evacuations and rescues. Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas. Heed all flood watches and warnings.
Furthermore, the situation is favorable for several tornadoes, some potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats are urged to relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if one is issued. Tornadoes can cause roofs to be torn off, mobile homes demolished, and large trees snapped.
