Residents of Westmoreland and Fayette Counties should secure outdoor objects immediately as a Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh, PA.

The advisory is in effect from 8 PM EDT this evening, October 10, until 2 PM EDT Sunday, October 11. Southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching between 40 to 55 mph.

These strong winds could blow around unsecured items. The NWS warns that tree limbs may be blown down, and isolated power outages are possible. To mitigate potential hazards, secure any loose outdoor objects such as patio furniture, trash cans, and decorations.

If you observe downed trees, power lines, or large branches, please report them to the NWS Pittsburgh by calling 412-262-1988, posting to their Facebook page, or using X (formerly Twitter) @NWSPittsburgh.
