Winter Storm Warning Issued: Heavy Snow Expected, Travel Difficulties Likely

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Eastern Pondera, Eastern Teton, Cascade County below 5000ft, Judith Basin County, Judith Gap, and Meagher County Valleys until Monday, October 12 at 6:00 AM MDT, with heavy snow and difficult travel expected.

Residents in Eastern Pondera, Eastern Teton, Cascade County below 5000ft, Judith Basin County, Judith Gap, and Meagher County Valleys should prepare for heavy, wet snow. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service Great Falls MT, effective immediately, October 11 at 10:29 AM MDT, and will remain in effect until Monday, October 12 at 6:00 AM MDT.

Additional snow accumulations between 5 and 9 inches are expected. Travel conditions could become very difficult. Gusty winds combined with the heavy, wet snow may lead to downed tree branches and isolated power outages. Snowfall amounts will vary, with accumulations on non-grassy surfaces primarily occurring from evening through late morning.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, dial 511.
