Housatonic River - Great Barrington pollution sign - 2023
Sign in Great Barrington, Massachusetts warning of PCB pollution in the adjacent Housatonic River. The General Electric plant in Pittsfield, MA dumped PCB waste into the river between the 1930s and 1977, and this downstream section of the river is still polluted in 2023.
