His contributions to community policing, his mentorship, and his exemplary service across countless assignments have left a lasting impact on Salisbury. Colonel Drewer’s distinguished career includes numerous commendations, national leadership training through the FBI National Academy, and continued dedication to professional growth. City of Salisbury Welcomes New Public Information Officer

Salisbury, MD — The City of Salisbury is pleased to announce the hiring of Hannah Long as the new Public Information Officer (PIO) in the Mayor’s Office. In this role, Long will support the City’s public communications efforts, including managing Maryland Public Information Act (MPIA) requests and assisting in the delivery of accurate, timely information to residents. Working under the direction of the Mayor and City Administrator, she will collaborate closely with the Director of Communications while supporting daily operations within the Mayor’s Office. Long brings valuable experience from her previous roles with the City of Salisbury, having served in both the Fire Department and the Clerk’s Office. She began her career in public service as an Office Administrator with the Fire Department, where she developed a strong foundation in organization, communication, and operational support. She later transitioned to the Clerk’s Office, gaining insight into legislative processes and the inner workings of local government. “Now, as a Public Information Officer, I’m excited to step into a new role where I can be a bridge between the City and the community,” said Long. “I want to ensure information is clear, timely, and easy to understand. With my background in both administrative and legislative work, I feel like I bring a balanced perspective, and I’m really looking forward to growing in this role and connecting more with the community.” “I am very excited to have Hannah Long in the Mayor’s office.  Hannah has proven to be a high-performing professional who will be a great addition to the Mayor’s team,” said Mayor Randy Taylor. City of Salisbury Names Assistant City Administrator and Acting Communications Director

Salisbury, MD – The City of Salisbury is pleased to announce the appointment of Austin “Skip” Cox as Assistant City Administrator and Jordan Ray as Acting Communications Director, further strengthening the City’s leadership team with experienced professionals in operations, development, and communications. Cox brings more than 35 years of experience in construction, real estate, and project management. Throughout his career, he has successfully overseen large-scale commercial developments, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, and led complex projects from planning through completion. In his recent role as Senior Property and Project Manager with Brownmarsh LLC, Cox directed the management of more than 2 million square feet of commercial real estate across multiple states while leading capital improvement projects and strategic facility upgrades. He has also supported project planning and development efforts for the City of Salisbury, bringing valuable institutional knowledge to his new role. Mayor Randy Taylor spoke on Cox’s appointment, stating, “Austin ‘Skip’ Cox is a well-known and highly experienced contractor and developer. He brings next-level expertise in navigating both infrastructure and development projects. Our administration is extremely fortunate to have secured his skills and abilities as we advance both public and private initiatives. I look forward to his continued contributions and the tremendous value he brings to the Mayor’s Office.” Ray, who will serve as Acting Communications Director, most recently worked in the Mayor’s Office as Media Specialist. In this role, Ray has played a key part in shaping the City’s public image through strategic communications, digital media, and community engagement initiatives. He has led the development of marketing materials, managed social media platforms, produced video content, and supported major City events and announcements. Ray also brings entrepreneurial experience as the founder of a media production company, along with a strong background in marketing, business development, and community engagement. Mayor Randy Taylor added, “I am thrilled to have Jordan Ray step into the role of Acting Communications Director. He has proven to be a thoughtful, talented, and gracious member of the team. I fully expect him to excel in this leadership role, as he has in the past, and I look forward to seeing him demonstrate that he is ready to lead.” The City of Salisbury looks forward to the continued leadership and contributions of both Cox and Ray as they support the City’s mission to serve residents, strengthen the community, and advance key initiatives. ###

City Announces Church Street Road Closure for Old City Hall Painting

Salisbury, MD. – The City of Salisbury announces that Church Street, from Mill Street to North Division Street, will be temporarily closed from April 27 through May 1 to allow a contractor to complete exterior painting work on the Old City Hall building. The building is currently being renovated to serve as the new home for the Housing & Community Development Department and the Information Services (IT) Department. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes during this time and use caution when traveling near the work zone. The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as improvements are made to enhance municipal facilities. ###
