East Dundee Kayak Rental Kiosk at Fox River | 2026

East Dundee residents can rent kayaks directly from their phones starting early summer 2026. The Village Board approved an agreement with Rent.Fun to install a solar-powered kiosk near the boat launch across from Bartels Park.

The kiosk will house six single kayaks and two tandem kayaks. Renters pay $25 for two hours, $40 for four hours, or $99 for an annual membership valid at all Rent.Fun locations.

The project supports the village's 2025-2028 Strategic Plan goal to activate the riverfront and its 2025-2035 Comprehensive Plan priority to expand recreational opportunities on the Fox River.

The village recommends paddlers start by heading upstream toward Carpentersville, so they paddle against the current at the beginning and return with easier conditions.
