Drivers in San Juan County, Island County, and the Downtown Everett / Marysville Area are advised to slow down and use headlights immediately. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Seattle has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, effective until 12:00 PM PDT today, October 5th.

Visibility is significantly reduced to one-half mile or less in dense fog, making driving conditions hazardous. The NWS indicates that the densest fog is concentrated along coastal areas and within the Snohomish River valley.

If you must drive within the affected areas, remember to reduce your speed, turn on your headlights, and maintain ample distance between your vehicle and others. The advisory was issued at 8:50 AM PDT and will remain in effect for the specified regions until noon today.
