A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Inland Franklin County, effective immediately from 5:03 AM EDT on October 8, 2026, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee. Tropical storm-force winds are expected within the next 36 hours. Residents should complete preparations now before hazardous winds arrive.
Forecasts indicate peak winds of 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Limited damage to property, tree limbs, and some power outages are possible. Efforts to protect property should be underway.
A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain expected, leading to a potential for major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely, and residents in flood-vulnerable areas should strongly consider protective actions.
