Fort Myers City Employees Raise $25K for United Way
City of Fort Myers employees raised $25,764 for the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades during the organization's annual campaign.
The funds support local nonprofits as United Way works toward its 2025-2026 goal of $11.5 million. City employees have contributed more than $400,000 to United Way over the past 30 years.
Mayor Kevin Anderson, who serves on United Way's board, said the city remains committed to the campaign. "We're proud to continue supporting the United Way fundraising campaign," Anderson said. "I've seen firsthand the impact these efforts have on families, and I'm grateful to our employees and local businesses."
Hannah Pelle, United Way interim president and CEO, praised the contributions. "City of Fort Myers employees set an inspiring example of what it means to invest in the well-being of their neighbors," Pelle said.
All donations remain in the community, supporting United Way's network of partner agencies. United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades has raised and distributed more than $272 million since its establishment in 1957.
