Fort Myers employers seeking to hire military veterans and spouses now have a new resource: the VetJobs Employer Engagement Program (EEP). This initiative connects local businesses with qualified military-affiliated job seekers.
The EEP offers employers free services, including job postings, widespread marketing of opportunities and access to fully vetted candidates. Program specialists provide direct recruitment and offer targeted training to help companies increase their military and veteran hiring.
VetJobs, operating with Military Spouse Jobs, is an approved partner of the Department of Labor’s Military Candidate Referral Program. Since 2010, the organization has facilitated over 119,000 verified military-affiliated job placements nationwide, contributing $7.5 billion to the economy. Ninety-six cents of every dollar spent supports the mission.
The program prioritizes quality, sending only vetted and qualified candidates to hiring managers. An average of 700 to 1,000 new military-affiliated job seekers register with VetJobs weekly.
A key component, the Recruiter Connect Community (RCC), supports former military personnel, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses working as corporate recruiters. The RCC provides a network for recruiters to exchange insights, share best practices and address veteran recruitment challenges. Benefits include networking and resource sharing.
Employers interested in the Employer Engagement Program or the Recruiter Connect Community can register on the VetJobs website. Contact Angie Fair at [email protected] or [email protected]. For general inquiries, email [email protected].
