Dr. Traci Kohler Promoted to Deputy Town Manager of Fort Myers Beach

Fort Myers Beach has promoted Dr. Traci Kohler to Deputy Town Manager. She previously served as Assistant to the Town Manager and brings over 30 years of public service experience to her new role.

In her new position, Dr. Kohler will serve as a strategic partner to the Town Manager and department heads. She will focus on aligning operations with the town's strategic goals, promoting collaboration across departments and with external agencies, overseeing the development and implementation of key town plans like the Strategic Plan and Capital Improvement Plan, and guiding leadership development and operational enhancements.

Dr. Kohler holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. She previously served as principal of Fort Myers Beach Elementary, where she built strong community partnerships and led initiatives supporting student and family success.

Since joining the town's administrative team, Dr. Kohler has coordinated the town's strategic documentation response to FEMA. Her work facilitated intergovernmental communication, ensured regulatory compliance, and drove planning initiatives for the town's long-term resiliency. She also contributed to refining visioning frameworks and identifying operational procedures for sustainable growth and improved public service delivery.

Town Manager Will McKannay expressed confidence in Dr. Kohler's abilities. "Dr. Kohler's promotion reflects both her outstanding contributions and the trust the Town has in her ability to lead during a time of transformation. Her knowledge, commitment, and collaborative spirit make her an exceptional fit for this role," McKannay said.
