Fort Myers Beach: New GovWell Platform for Development Applications

The Town of Fort Myers Beach now offers GovWell, an online platform simplifying planning and zoning application submissions and management. The digital system replaces downloadable forms, requiring all applications to be completed through the GovWell portal.

Residents and developers can use GovWell to submit applications, upload documents, pay fees, respond to reviews, and track project statuses online. The town aims to increase efficiency and transparency in development services.

Before submitting, users should consult applicable checklists for specific application types. These include variances, special exceptions, planned developments, rezoning, and comprehensive plan amendments. Completing applications thoroughly upfront can speed up the review process.

Checklists are available for Variance, Special Exception, Planned Developments, Minimum Use Determination, Local Home Rule Development Agreement, Conventional Rezoning, Comprehensive Plan Amendment, Appeal of Administrative Action, Administrative Setback Variance, Administrative Amendment to Approved Master Concept Plan, DEP Consistency, Development Order, Limited Development Order, Limited Development Reseal and Restripe, and Commercial Use for New Business. Supplemental forms such as Disclosure of Ownership Interest and Affidavit of Authorization are also accessible.

Existing applications and permits submitted through the iWorQ system remain accessible there during the transition to GovWell. Users can continue to check application statuses, view outstanding fees, make payments, access permit information, and view approved plans in iWorQ.
