Chris Mills, Deputy Chief The Deputy Chief is a key member of the Temple Terrace Police Department's command staff, responsible for overseeing administrative functions and supporting the department's long-term strategic goals. This position reports directly to the Chief of Police and plays an important role in ensuring operational efficiency behind the scenes. In the absence of the Chief of Police, the Deputy Chief assumes command of the department to ensure continuity of leadership and operations. A primary responsibility of the Deputy Chief is the oversight of the Training Division. In this role, the Deputy Chief ensures that all departmental training meets current law enforcement standards, supports officer development, and complies with state and accreditation requirements. The Deputy Chief coordinates mandatory certifications, continuing education programs, and specialized training initiatives to maintain a highly skilled and prepared workforce. The Deputy Chief also manages the department's budget. This includes developing and monitoring the budget, allocating resources, and ensuring that operational and training needs are met within financial guidelines. The Deputy Chief works closely with city leadership to align fiscal planning with department priorities. Beyond internal responsibilities, the Deputy Chief is involved in policy development and departmental planning. The role includes reviewing and updating procedures, supporting internal audits and compliance efforts, and contributing to the overall effectiveness and professionalism of the department. In times of critical incidents or large-scale events, the Deputy Chief serves in a command capacity to support response efforts and ensure effective departmental leadership during emergencies or periods of heightened operational demand.

"NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City Commission of the City of Deltona, Florida, will hold a public hearing at City Hall, 2345 Providence Boulevard, Deltona, Florida, at 6:30 p.m. on June 17, 2024, to consider the following Ordinance: ORDINANCE NO. 27-24 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DELTONA, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 18, “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC,” ARTICLE III, “OPERATION OF VEHICLES,” BY CREATING A NEW DIVISION 7, “MOBILE FOOD DISPENSING VEHICLES,” TO PROVIDE REGULATIONS FOR MOBILE FOOD DISPENSING VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. All interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to the proposed Ordinance. The Ordinance may be inspected by the public at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Deltona, 2345 Providence Boulevard, Deltona, Florida, during regular business hours.
