The Campbell Foundation Announces Grant Awards Totaling $1.1 Million at its 24th Annual Brunch FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (November 21, 2019) – The Campbell Foundation, a Fort Lauderdale-based organization funding HIV/AIDS research, awarded grants totaling $1.1 million at its 24th Annual Brunch held November 17th at Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina. The Foundation’s grants represent seed money and sometimes full funding to cutting-edge researchers. Over the past 24 years, the Campbell Foundation has awarded nearly $12 million in grant dollars. At the brunch, the Foundation presented its Courage Award to Michael D. Barnett, who has been a supporter of the Foundation for more than 20 years. Michael expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for its work funding HIV/AIDS research. “We are proud to support these researchers with their innovative projects,” said Ken Meeks, executive director of The Campbell Foundation. “Their work holds the promise of eradicating or better treating HIV/AIDS.”
