Man Hospitalized After Shooting at Palm Coast McDonald's
A 50-year-old Palm Coast resident shot a 61-year-old Daytona Beach man multiple times in the McDonald's drive-thru at 4851 Belle Terre Parkway on May 26 around 10:20 p.m., the Flagler County Sheriff's Office reported.
The shooting followed a road rage incident that started on Belle Terre Parkway and escalated in the McDonald's parking lot. The 61-year-old victim sustained a facial injury and multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported him by air ambulance to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where he remains in stable condition.
Deputies and detectives interviewed multiple witnesses at the scene. Detectives are still investigating the relationship between all individuals involved in the initial road rage incident.
Sheriff Rick Staly said detectives have identified all persons involved and found no threat to the community. "We have identified all persons involved, and there is no threat to the community," he said. "I remind all drivers that it is much better to call law enforcement and let us investigate than to engage in a road rage incident."
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Flagler County Sheriff's Office non-emergency line at 386-313-4911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477).
