Amazon Purchases 77.43 Acres in Tarboro Commerce Center for $512,000
Tarboro, NC – Amazon.com, Inc. has acquired 77.43 acres of land within the Tarboro Commerce Center, signaling a significant new development for the community nestled along the Tar River.
According to Edgecombe County records, the Seattle-based company purchased the parcel from the Town of Tarboro for $512,000. This transaction translates to a cost of $6,612.42 per acre for the property.
Troy Lewis, the Town Manager of Tarboro, issued a statement regarding the acquisition. “The Town of Tarboro is excited for the opportunities Amazon will bring to the community,” Lewis stated. “Tarboro prides itself on providing a business-friendly climate, increasing the local economy, and enriching the lives of residents.” This aligns with the town's historic commitment to growth in Edgecombe County.
