About this Event
Join the Sport Social Work Alliance for an engaging virtual panel discussion exploring the many forms of human trafficking and the unique ways trafficking intersects with sport, communities, and vulnerable populations. Moderator: Matt Moore, Ph.D., Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at UK CoSW
Together, they will share their expertise on topics including athlete trafficking, survivor-centered advocacy, legal protections for survivors, community prevention strategies, and efforts to address trafficking surrounding major sporting events.
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of human trafficking, explore the important role social workers and criminal justice professionals play in prevention, intervention, and advocacy, and leave with practical knowledge for recognizing and responding to trafficking in their communities.
The event will be held virtually via Zoom and is open to students, practitioners, faculty, and community members interested in advancing awareness and action against human trafficking.
