The Clinton Village Council will hold a public hearing on May 4, 2026, at 7:00 pm, in the Village Office, 119 E. Michigan Avenue, Clinton, MI.  Individuals needing special accommodations should contact the Village Office at least 72 hours prior to the hearing.  The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on proposed water rate increase.  The proposed water rate increase is $2.00 per month for the average residential customer using 5,000 gallons.  Customers with larger meters will pay proportionately more.  To ensure the continued reliability, safety, and operational integrity of the Village’s water distribution system, it is necessary to implement periodic rate adjustments. These adjustments will fund essential daily operations, proactive maintenance, and critical capital improvements. The water utility has faced significant inflationary pressure regarding supplies and the rising costs of infrastructure maintenance. This adjustment is vital to avoid deferred maintenance, which often results in more costly emergency repairs and compromised service levels.
