Public Hearing on CDBG Grant

Public Hearing on CDBG Grant

About this Event

Village of Clinton Public Hearing April 20, 2026   The Clinton Village Council will hold a public hearing on April 20, 2026, at 7:00 pm, in the Village Office, 119 E. Michigan Avenue, Clinton, MI. Individuals needing special accommodations should contact the Village Office at least 72 hours prior to the hearing.  The purpose of the hearing is to afford citizens an opportunity to examine and submit comments on the proposed application for a CDBG grant.    Village of Clinton proposes to use CDBG grant funds in the amount of $ 200,000 to support one project located in the Village of Clinton. This project requests project funding that will support the rehabilitation of 2 residential units. These 51% of these units will be designated for occupancy by low- to moderate-income households (80% of the Area Median Income and below), aligning with county and local efforts to expand access to quality, affordable housing within the community. No displacement of residents or businesses is anticipated, as the project residential units will be constructed in an existing structure that is currently vacant; however, if any displacement does occur, it will be handled in accordance with federal Uniform Relocation Assistance requirements. The project request administrative costs of 18% on top of project costs bringing the total request to $36,000 in funding.   Further information, including a copy of the Village of Clinton’s community development and CDBG application is available for review. The documents are at the Village Office for inspection. Comments may be submitted in writing through April 20, 2026 or made in person at the public hearing.   Village of Clinton submitted an initial Letter of Intent (LOI) for the CDBG fund in September, 2025. A full application, including program details, is in development and will be completed by May 8th, 2026.   Citizen views and comments on the proposed application are welcome.     Village of Clinton Leslie Owens, Clerk Posted March 25, 2026 in officePosted April 1, 2026 onlineIn news paper on April 9, 2026
