The City of Glenarden invites residents to participate in its upcoming Donation Drive & Shred Event on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will take place at the Municipal Center Parking Lot (8600 Glenarden Parkway, Glenarden, MD 20706) and is open to Glenarden residents only (valid ID required). This community-focused initiative provides a convenient and secure way for residents to dispose of sensitive documents while also giving back through donations. Shredding Guidelines:Residents are encouraged to bring documents for secure shredding. All materials must be placed in boxes. Please note that binder clips and large metal objects are not permitted, though staples and paper clips are acceptable. Donation Opportunities:In addition to shredding services, the City will accept gently used clothing (placed in plastic bags), as well as: Shoes Purses Books Small appliances and electronics Games and toys This event will be held rain or shine, ensuring residents have the opportunity to participate regardless of weather conditions.
