Inclusionary Zoning Changes MeetingApril 15 | 11 a.m.Tu Casa Restaurant, 403 BroadwayConnect with fellow community members and City officials to learn more and ask questions about the City Manager's Proposed changes to Chelsea's Inclusionary Zoning Policy. Budget & Bites Info SessionApril 15 | 6-7 p.m.Chelsea Senior Center & Facebook LiveJoin Chelsea City Manager Fidel Maltez on March 25 or April 15 for Budget & Bites, a community conversation about how Chelsea’s city budget works. Budget & Bites will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Chelsea Senior Center located at 10 Riley Way (behind Fire Headquarters). During the event, guests can enjoy a free slice of pizza while learning how the City plans, prioritizes, and invests in services, infrastructure, and programs that support our community.Earth Day Clean-up and Bear Park Ribbon CuttingApril 18 | 9-2 p.m.500 Broadway (cleanup begins) and 212 Congress Street, ChelseaCelebrate Earth Day in Chelsea by participating in the City and GreenRoots' citywide cleanup event and grand opening ceremony for Chelsea's new park, Bear Park! Chelsea RecordedApril 21 | 6 p.m.Chelsea Public Library, 569 Broadway, ChelseaThe Chelsea Public Library will host Chelsea Recorded, a special presentation featuring the works of award-winning photographer Arnie Jarmak and journalist Josh Resnek. They worked together for decades on the Chelsea Record and have since published three books with their industry experience. Through photographs, and excerpts from their books, the duo will share a portrait of the city’s history, highlighting moments, and stories from their perspectives.Open Painting Studio (18+)April 22 | 4-5:30 p.m.Williams School building, 180 Walnut StreetExplore the basics of painting. Students work from life and imagination. Come socialize and explore your creative side. Participants are guided through the painting process as they relax and chat with their community. Paints and supplies included. No art experience required. Refreshments are provided!The Reel Do Over Film FestivalApril 22, 6 p.m. through April 26, 4 p.m.Apollinaire Theatre, 189 Winnisimmet St, ChelseaThe Reel Do Over is an exciting week-long cultural event that includes screenings of short films produced by local and regional filmmakers, workshops, panel discussions and networking/casual mixers for the community. Youth 21 and under have free admission to all the screenings, panels and workshops. Otherwise tickets are $10.00 per event with Festival and Day passes available. Funded in part by the Chelsea Cultural Council. Moon & Star Gazing (all ages)April 27 | 7:30 - 9 p.m.Soldiers Home, 100 Summit AveJoin members of your community in exploring the night sky! Peer through a telescope, learn about visible planets and stars, and enjoy some astronomy-themed, family-friendly activities. This event is organized in conjunction with the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston (ATMoB). Join City Manager Fidel Maltez on April 29 at 5 p.m. to learn where funding comes from and how it supports services, programs, and priorities across the City.Housing Developer PanelApril 29 | 6-7 p.m.Chelsea Senior Center & streaming on the City of Chelsea's FacebookThe City of Chelsea invites residents and community-based organizations to an Housing Panel Discussion featuring local housing developers who will share their experiences housing and perspectives on the costs and challenges of building both affordable and market rate housing in Chelsea, giving residents a firsthand look at the realities facing the people who invest in and build housing and an opportunity to ask questions directly.
