A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Escambia Coastal, including Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Perdido Bay, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective immediately as of October 8 at 9:57 PM CDT. This is an extreme and immediate threat.

Residents in surge-prone areas must prepare for life-threatening storm surge flooding of greater than 6 feet above ground. Evacuation efforts should be completed urgently. If evacuation orders are given for your area, leave immediately to avoid being cut off from emergency services.

Hurricane force winds, equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane, are forecast with peak winds of 65-85 mph and gusts up to 115 mph. These winds are expected from early Friday afternoon until early Saturday morning. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Extensive damage to roofs, mobile homes, and trees is expected, leading to widespread power and communication outages.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 4-8 inches of rain expected, potentially causing major flooding. Tornadoes are also possible.
