Pine View School: Florida's Top Public High School

Pine View School in Osprey has earned the distinction of being named the top public high school in Florida and ranked 13th nationally in the 2026-2027 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings. The publication evaluated approximately 27,000 public high schools nationwide.

Pine View School outperformed every other public high school in the state. The next highest-ranked Florida school, Marine Academy of Science and Technology in North Miami, secured the 31st position nationally.

The rankings highlight Pine View's academic achievements, noting 100% proficiency in Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology and U.S. History. The school also graduated every student in four of the most recent five reported years.

Established in 1969, Pine View serves intellectually gifted students in grades 2 through 12 on a single campus. The rankings utilize data from the 2023-2024 school year.

Pine View's strong performance is a significant point of pride for the Suncoast region, offering valuable options for families with gifted students.
