Carolyn Jean Boyd, 87, of St. Petersburg, FL was called home to the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2026 in Orange Park, Florida after a brief illness. Born in Attleboro, MA, March 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. Rounseville and Lillian Isabel Rounseville. Carolyn moved to Florida with her family in 1951. She attended St. Petersburg High School and worked for Webb City where she met her husband of 52 years. She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver her entire life. She raised three children and cared for the elderly in her community. Carolyn was a Christian woman of great faith and a dedicated member of Maranatha Baptist Church for forty-six years and enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and bringing people to the Lord. She volunteered her time to all church fund raisers and activities including vacation bible school and witnessing about Jesus. She is survived by one son, Timothy Glenn Boyd and one adoring daughter, Bonnie Boyd Ciardelli. She leaves two beloved grandsons to cherish her memory, Anthony and Shane Ciardelli of Corpus Christi, TX. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Boyd, and two brothers and two sisters, Herbert Rounseville, Fredrick Rounseville, Marilyn Rounseville, and Miriam Pelham. A celebration of life memorial service will be held in the summer at Maranatha Baptist Church with preaching, singing, and fellowship. Her interment will take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery this summer, as well. The family would like to thank the sisters and brothers of Maranatha Baptist Church for their support and friendship all of these years and the staff at Bayfront Suncoast Hospice Center for their care and compassion for Carolyn Boyd.
