The City of Carlin is requesting an RFP and bid for the solid waste collection franchise. The RFP will be available to proposers on March 6, 2026. Written proposals need to be submitted by no later than 4 PM on April 17, 2026. The proposals will be evaluated from April 18, 2026 through April 21, 2026. Carlin Announces Utility Rate Increase
The new rate for water and sewer services will go into effect January 1, 2026, for the utility bill due on February 10, 2026.The Carlin City Council unanimously approved Resolution 2022-03, increasing the Residential Water Fee from $87.59 to 94.27 , the Residential Sewer Fee from $62.30 to 67.05. The landfill fee ($9.30) and the street light fee ($2.38) remain unchanged. On January 1, 2026, the new residential rate for Water, Sewer, Landfill, and Street Lights will be $173.00 for one trash can, and $182.30 for two trash cans. This rate adjustment will help ensure the reliability and availability of high-quality drinking water and wastewater management throughout the City of Carlin. The Planning Commission consists of five members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council. The Commission is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council on matters pertaining to the City’s planning and zoning regulations. The Planning Commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 151 Railroad Street, Carlin, NV 89822.
