From an early age, Maurice brought joy to those around him with his infectious smile, quick wit, and love of learning. He began working at McDaniels Pharmacy at a young age, where his passion for helping others first flourished. A natural leader, he served as class president at his high school.After graduating, Maurice attended Alcorn State University. There, he met his future wife and proudly pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He later continued his education at Xavier University in Louisiana. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1994. In 2000, he became a certified Physician Assistant. This was well before many people fully understood the important role PAs would come to play in healthcare. Maurice was truly ahead of his time.His journey next led him to join the faculty of Hampton University as a professor in the Department of Pharmacy. A gifted educator and mentor, he was honored with the Teacher of the Year Award for his dedication, wisdom, and ability to inspire his students. Maurice later spent more than 20 years as a Senior Medical Science Liaison for several pharmaceutical companies. He earned the respect of colleagues across the industry for his professionalism, brilliance, and compassion.Maurice’s children brought him the greatest joy. He was a devoted father to Maurice III and Kayla. He had a deep love for travel and treasured creating memories with his family. Together, they explored more than 30 states and traveled abroad to beautiful countries including Italy, Spain, and France. Whether near or far, he found joy in experiencing life with those he loved most.To know Maurice was to love him. He possessed a generous spirit, a brilliant mind, and a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and cared for. He was determined and always ready with wisdom, encouragement, or a solution to any problem. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to all who knew him.Maurice leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Angela; his children, Maurice III and Kayla; his sister, Lanita (Randy); his brother-in-law, Charles (Victoria); his nieces and nephews, Randy Jr., Kennedy, Sydney, and Khari (Chris); along with a host of loving cousins, fraternity brothers, colleagues, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness and love.
