Her life was a testament to grace, perseverance, and the power of intercession—roles she carried with humility and joy from childhood until her final breath.Early LifeBorn on December 8, 1957, in Denton, Texas, Donna was one of twelve siblings and quickly became known as the gentle mediator and gatherer of the family. As a middle child, she naturally stepped into the role of peacemaker—an intercessor whose heart was always turned toward unity, compassion, and connection. Her family often said she carried a special gift: the ability to love deeply, pray fervently, and bring people together.Donna graduated from Denton High School and later earned her Associate Degree in Business from El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. She continued her education through the prestigious Wharton Business Program, equipping herself with the knowledge and skill that would fuel her remarkable career as an entrepreneur and business leader. Even in her youth, it was clear to all who knew her that Donna was destined for greatness.Career and Business InfluenceDonna’s professional journey spanned more than 40 years and left an indelible mark on the business community nationwide. As the founder and owner of Joy Promotions Inc., she built a thriving enterprise specializing in promotions and advertising specialty products. Her leadership was defined not only by excellence and innovation but by the faith she carried boldly into every boardroom, meeting, and partnership.Colleagues and clients alike admired her integrity, her brilliance, and her ability to make every person feel seen and valued. Donna’s influence extended far beyond business transactions—she ministered through her work, offering encouragement, wisdom, and prayer to countless individuals across the country.Community Leadership & ServiceDonna was a passionate advocate for business development, minority entrepreneurship, and community empowerment. She served actively within organizations such as the DFW Minority Development Council, contributing through membership, sponsorship, and volunteer leadership. Her dedication earned her numerous awards, including the prestigious E-Award for outstanding business success.Her heart for service was especially evident in her commitment to mentoring women. Donna invested her time, expertise, and resources to help emerging minority and women-owned businesses navigate certification processes, secure contracts, and expand their visibility and revenue. Through monthly coaching, hands-on guidance, and her generous spirit, she helped countless women step into their purpose with confidence.Donna also served on several nonprofit boards, including the Ina Mae Greene Foundation, an organization supporting survivors of domestic violence. Her compassion, advocacy, and faith-driven leadership touched lives far beyond what can be measured.Family: Her Greatest LegacyOf all Donna’s accomplishments, none brought her more joy or pride than her family. Her heart belonged to her beloved husband, Karl Clemons, her “Promised Boaz,” with whom she shared 15 years of love, partnership, and cherished memories. Their union was a reflection of God’s faithfulness—two souls aligned in purpose, devotion, and unwavering commitment.Donna was the proud and loving mother of her three sons—Roger Joyner II, Rodrick Joyner, and Randall Joyner, her “Sweet Baby Boy,” as she affectionately called him. She devoted her life to raising her sons to be strong, honorable men. Donna was immensely proud of each of them and loved them deeply. She adored her daughters-in-love, Crystal Joyner, Trimiesha Joyner, and Shermia Lewis, who brought immense joy, love, and a sense of completeness to her family. She cherished each of them and welcomed them as daughters in every sense of the word.Donna’s heart expanded even further when God blessed her with a compassionate and devoted daughter, Julia Sanchez, whose presence transformed Donna’s life in profound and beautiful ways. Their bond was heaven-sent—rooted in healing, faith, and unconditional love.Her legacy continues through her precious grandchildren: Alexus Joyner, Roger “Trey” Joyner III, Addison Joyner, Madison Joyner, Rodrick “Deuce” Joyner II, Joy Lewis, Aniyah Joyner, and Sierra Joyner. Each one was a reflection of her joy, her prayers, and her enduring love. She treasured every opportunity to support them in their activities, celebrations, and accomplishments, taking great pride in being present for the moments that mattered most in their lives.Donna also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Laurie “Tina” Heard, Betty (Peter) Elliott, Susie Gardener, Maxine Thomas, William “Billy” Green, Rose Fanner, Amos Green, and Michael (Lori Ann) Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws, each of whom shared in the deep bonds of family, faith, and lifelong connection.She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Sardie and Gertrude Green; her brothers, Eddie Green and Ben Green; and her sister, Barbara Green.
