Social Worker Support

Beaver County Library - Social Worker Skip to Content Social Worker Social Worker This program sponsored by the Aliquippa Library District and the Environmental Mitigation Community Fund, through the Pittsburgh Foundation. Provides counseling and support to library users, help them navigate various health and wellness resources, and assist them in their journey towards mental health recovery. In addition to these services, Michael will also provide several direct supports: Crisis Intervention, which involves providing immediate support during a crisis to help individuals regain equilibrium; Case Management, which involves coordinating services and resources to assist individuals or families; Life Skills Training, which involves helping individuals develop essential skills such as budgeting, job searching, and time management; Advocacy, which involves representing and advocating for library user’s rights and needs at individual, group, and community levels; and psychoeducation, which involves educating individuals and families about mental health conditions and strategies for managing them. Our social worker program will also focus on Community Outreach to help the library district build better engagement with our communities and raise awareness of available services and resources. Make a contribution of $25 or more and the library will place an item in the collection acknowledging your thoughtfulness. A plate will be on the item notating who its for and by whom. Museum Passes

Beaver County Library - Experiences Skip to Content Experience Kits & Museum Passes Experience Kits & Museum Passes Begins June 1, 2026 Explore history with our Experience Kits. Each kit includes admission for 4 people to visit ten local museums and historical sites in southwest Pennsylvania. Kits check out for one week at a time. Kits must be requested in person or over the phone from participating libraries. Kits must be checked out and returned to/from their home library. Only one kit can be checked out at a time, per household. Limited to adults only. Children are not eligible to check out Experience Kits. A $150 fee will be assessed per pass if not returned. This program is coordinated through the Heinz History Center Affiliates Program (HHCAP) and managed by The Aliquippa Library District (ALD). For all Experience Pass questions, contact the B.F. Learn about Western PA history & heritage on six fascinating floors of interactive exhibits with a wide range of events. Meadowcroft Rockshelter & Historic Village: Tour 500 years of Washington County history and natural environment. Discover ancient times and rural life. Fort Pitt Museum: Explore Pittsburgh's key role in shaping the nation during the French and Indian War and the American Revolution War. 1,000 Books before Kindergarten

Raising A Reader! BCLS and ALD invite families and caregivers across Beaver County to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten. Reading aloud to children from birth does more than just stack their vocabulary, it jumpstarts the critical thinking and language skills they need to navigate the world. Start their literacy journey today- It’s easy (and free!) with your library. How to Participate: Register at beaverlibraries.beanstack.org Log the books you read with your child in Beanstack or on the Beanstack app or track your progress on a printed log. For every 200 books read, stop into your library for a prize from The Log Box! When you've read 1,000 books, congratulations! Stop into the library for the final prize! StoryWalk® at Bradys Run: Where Literacy Meets the Trail COMING SPRING 2026! Welcome to the StoryWalk® at Bradys Run Health and Walking Trail—a permanent outdoor reading experience designed to blend storytime with the benefits of active living. By placing the pages of a children’s book along our popular walking loop, we transform a simple stroll into an interactive educational adventure. GRAND OPENING/ RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY- Saturday, May 2nd @ 12PM RAIN DATE: Saturday May 23 @ 12PM FREE! OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Join us for the grand unveiling of our permanent StoryWalk®. Our first featured story, George Washington in Logstown, is a true local treasure! Sponsored by the Beaver County Historical Research & Landmarks Foundation, this book was written in 2020 by two talented students from Baden Academy. In collaboration with History Weekend and America 250, and support from Remake Learning Days, the afternoon will include a brief unveiling ceremony, light refreshments, and interactive booths from our story sponsors. The sponsored story will be available for purchase with all proceed benefiting BCHRLF. Take a look at the designs from the previous year and review the judging criteria: Judges will factor in the age of participants during the evaluation process Composition- Is the piece arranged in a balanced use of space? Are things spelled correctly and created thoughtfully? Meaning – Is the artists’ vision easily understood? Did they reflect a love of reading and/or libraries?
