Tropical Storm Warning Issued for Early: Act Now!
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Early, urging immediate action for hazardous winds up to 45 mph, potential major flooding, and several tornadoes; the warning expires 1:30 PM EDT today.
A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Early by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL, effective immediately as of 5:17 AM EDT on October 9. This warning is in effect until 1:30 PM EDT today.
Residents in Blakely should take immediate action to complete preparations for hazardous wind, potential major flooding, and the possibility of several tornadoes. Peak winds are forecast to reach 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Damage to unsecured objects, large tree limbs, and some power outages are possible.
A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain expected, and locally higher amounts. Major rainfall flooding is anticipated, potentially leading to evacuations and rescues. Rivers and streams may overflow, and many structures could be impacted. Heed any flood watches and warnings immediately.
The situation is also favorable for tornadoes. Emergency plans should include the potential for several tornadoes, some possibly intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if one is issued.
