High Rip Current Risk, Minor Coastal Flooding for Duval County
A High Rip Current Risk and Coastal Flood Advisory are in effect for Coastal Duval County, warning of dangerous rip currents through Saturday night and minor coastal flooding until Saturday afternoon.
Coastal Duval County residents and visitors are advised of a High Rip Current Risk and a Coastal Flood Advisory, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Jacksonville FL.
The High Rip Current Risk is in effect immediately and continues through late Saturday night, October 11, 2026. Dangerous rip currents are expected, posing a significant hazard to swimmers. The NWS advises to swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float, and do not swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
A Coastal Flood Advisory is also in effect for Coastal Duval County until 2 PM EDT Saturday, October 11, 2026. Minor coastal flooding is anticipated, potentially affecting lots, parks, and roads, with isolated road closures possible. If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Residents in flood-prone areas should take necessary actions to protect property.
