Hollywood House Fire: What We Know So Far
A house fire in Hollywood’s 6800 block of Pershing Street was contained to the backyard and patio area, and no injuries were reported, according to CBS Miami and WSVN 7News.
According to WSVN, a father and his children escaped safely before crews brought the fire under control. Firefighters kept the flames from spreading to the rest of the home or nearby properties, and the cause remains under investigation, according to both CBS Miami and WSVN.
The response brought multiple fire engines and emergency vehicles to the scene, and Pershing Street was closed while crews worked in the area, according to the reports. The closures remained in place as officials continued to secure the scene and investigate what sparked the fire.
Officials have not reported any arrests, suspect information or a determination that the fire was set intentionally, according to the available coverage. HFR is investigating the cause, WSVN reported, while CBS Miami said authorities are continuing to investigate.
Dispatch records show 20,329 similar structure fire incidents in the past six months, underscoring how often local crews are called to major fire responses. In this case, the size of the emergency response suggests firefighters treated the scene as an active structure fire with potential spread risk until the flames were contained.
More details are expected from fire officials as the investigation continues, including whether investigators can determine where the fire started and what caused it.
Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
