Residents in Johnson, Laurens, and Treutlen counties are advised to seek shelter immediately due to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service Peachtree City GA.

At 2:46 AM EDT, radar indicated a strong storm within a tropical rain band near Soperton, moving north at 40 mph. This storm carries an enhanced risk of a brief tornado, with localized rotation observed within the rainband. A tornado could form quickly.

The alert is effective immediately, October 10, 2026, and expires at 3:15 AM EDT. Affected locations include Soperton, Adrian, Lothair, Orland, Rockledge, Orianna, Blackville, and Scott. People outdoors in these areas should seek safe shelter without delay.
