Seffner residents can access a variety of local and regional resources for elder assistance. The West Central Florida Area Agency on Aging's Gate Keeper Program provides information and referrals for seniors. The program helps with assessments, case management, homemaker services, personal care, respite care, home repairs, and legal services. It also offers 911 cell phones for victims of elder abuse.

The Gate Keeper Program operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For assistance outside these hours, residents can call the 211 information program 24 hours a day.

The Hillsborough County SALT Council, a coalition of law enforcement, service providers, and seniors, also offers support. The council distributes File of Life Emergency pockets and 911 cell phones for elder abuse victims.

For information on Medicaid services or to file complaints about nursing homes and assisted living facilities, contact the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) at 813-871-7600.
