VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, will hold a Public Hearing at the Municipal Complex, 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, 33469, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 7:00 PM, to consider the following Ordinance: ORDINANCE 666-24 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE VILLAGE’S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 163, FLORIDA STATUTES; PROVIDING FOR UPDATED DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION AND FUTURE POPULATION PROJECTIONS WITHIN THE VILLAGE; PROVIDING FOR TRANSMITTAL TO THE STATE LAND PLANNING AGENCY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. All interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard or file written comments with the Village Clerk prior to the meeting. The Ordinance may be inspected by the public at the Office of the Village Clerk, 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, 33469, during normal business hours. Lantana Police to Conduct Active Shooter Training at Elementary School
The Lantana Police Department will be conducting Active Shooter Training at Lantana Elementary School located at 800 Greentree Circle in Lantana on June 13th and 14th, 2024. There will be an increased police presence at the school during these dates. The training is to prepare officers for responding to active shooter situations. The training will involve realistic scenarios. There is no cause for alarm.
Lantana Police Warn Residents of Ongoing Impersonation Scam
The Lantana Police Department is issuing a warning about a scam that is currently targeting residents. Scammers are posing as law enforcement officers or government officials and attempting to extract money from unsuspecting victims. These individuals often use threats of arrest or legal action to coerce victims into sending funds. They may request payment through wire transfers, gift cards, or cryptocurrency. The Lantana Police Department advises residents to be cautious and to verify the legitimacy of any claims made by someone claiming to be a law enforcement officer or government official before taking any action.

Dutch Bros raises over $1.8M for Florida youth organizations
GRANTS PASS, Ore. (May 28, 2024) – Dutch Bros Coffee and its customers banded together to support local youth organizations, raising more than $1.8 million at its annual Drink One for Dane fundraiser. All 1,850+ Dutch Bros locations participated in the 17th annual giveback, donating proceeds from every drink sold on May 17 to nonprofits focused on youth development and well-being. “We are so thankful for the generosity of our customers,” said Christine Barone, chief executive officer at Dutch Bros Coffee. “They showed up in a big way to support youth in their communities. It’s truly amazing to see the impact of Drink One for Dane grow each year and continue to honor Dane’s legacy.” Drink One for Dane began in 2007 in memory of Dane Boersma, one of the co-founders of Dutch Bros, who passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
