SEMINOLE COUNTY, GA — A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Seminole County, effective immediately from October 9 at 5:05 PM EDT, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee, FL. This warning is in effect until October 10 at 1:15 AM UTC.

Residents in Donalsonville and surrounding areas should prepare for hazardous conditions. Peak wind gusts of 20-30 mph, with potential for up to 50 mph, are expected. Damage to awnings, carports, and unanchored mobile homes is possible, along with downed tree limbs and scattered power outages. All efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain anticipated. Major flooding is possible, which may necessitate evacuations and rescues. Rivers and tributaries could overflow, and floodwaters may enter structures. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life. Consider protective actions, especially if in flood-prone areas.

Furthermore, a Tornado Watch is active, indicating a very favorable situation for tornadoes. Many tornadoes are possible, with some potentially intense. Residents in manufactured homes or on boats are urged to relocate to safe shelter immediately. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if a warning is issued. Tornadoes can cause extensive damage, including structure failures and dangerous flying debris.
