A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Northern Hancock, including the communities of Necaise and Sellers, effective immediately as of 4:00 PM CDT on October 9, 2026. This warning, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) New Orleans LA, is set to expire at 12:00 AM UTC on October 10, 2026.

Residents in the affected areas should be aware that while a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect, the NWS forecasts below tropical storm force winds, with peak gusts up to 30 mph. No significant additional rainfall or tornado threat is expected. Community officials are currently assessing any realized wind impacts.

For wind, the NWS advises: "Listen for any instructions from local officials" and "Ensure emergency readiness should the forecast change." Little to no preparations are needed for flooding rain or tornadoes, but monitoring for forecast changes is recommended. For more information, please visit msema.org.
