A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Northern Hancock, including the communities of Necaise and Sellers, effective immediately as of 4:13 PM CDT on October 8. This warning, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in New Orleans, LA, is in effect until 12:15 AM UTC on October 9.

Residents in these areas should prepare for potential localized flooding due to heavy rain. While sustained winds are forecast to remain below tropical storm force (10-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph), conditions may still be gusty. The NWS advises listening for instructions from local officials and ensuring emergency readiness should the forecast change.

No significant rainfall is forecast overall, but localized rainfall flooding may prompt a few evacuations. Rivers and tributaries could rise quickly, and small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches may overflow. Floodwaters could enter some structures, especially in vulnerable areas, and rapid ponding of water is possible at underpasses and low-lying spots. Some brief road and bridge closures are also possible.
