Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

Derby issued permits for six new single-family homes during the week of May 11-15, 2026, with a combined value of $1.8 million.

The largest project, a $700,000 home at 435 N. Cedar Point, led the approvals. Three adjacent homes on E. Derwin at 3470, 3480 and 3490 each cost $210,000. Two additional homes—at 409 N. Woodstone for $210,000 and 3394 N. Forest Park for $285,245—completed the new construction permits.

The city also approved two residential remodels valued at $7,350 and $9,897, plus three deck replacements ranging from $4,000 to $18,650. These projects added $44,397 in permitted work.

Three businesses registered during the same period. Andy's Frozen Custard opened May 22 at 2330 N. Rock Rd. Auction Alley registered at 215 E. Madison Ave., (702) 727-7021. Dairy Queen, under new ownership at 314 N. Baltimore Ave., operates at (788) 0781.
