Travelers in the Southern Denali Borough are advised to slow down and use caution due to a Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Fairbanks AK. The advisory is effective immediately, October 10, at 4:51 AM AKDT, and will remain in effect until 7:00 AM AKDT on Sunday, October 11.
Up to 8 inches of snow is expected along portions of the Parks Highway, particularly south of Denali Park. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph could create areas of blowing snow. This early season snowfall, which may mix with rain on Saturday, is anticipated to make roads and bridges slick and snow-covered.
