A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Marengo County, affecting Demopolis and Linden, effective immediately. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL, issued the warning at 7:10 PM CDT on October 8, and it remains in effect until 3:15 AM UTC on October 9.
Residents should plan for hazardous winds of equivalent tropical storm force, with peak gusts up to 50 mph. All efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Potential impacts include damage to lightweight structures, broken tree limbs, and scattered power outages.
