A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Marengo County, affecting areas including Demopolis and Linden. The warning was issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL, on October 9 at 6:57 AM CDT and is effective until 3:00 PM UTC today.

Residents should prepare for hazardous winds between 39 to 57 mph, with peak gusts potentially reaching 40 mph. Property protection efforts should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Damage to porches, awnings, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes is possible, along with downed tree limbs and scattered power outages.

A Flood Watch is also in effect. Expect 2-4 inches of rain, with higher localized amounts, posing a potential for moderate flooding. Emergency plans should account for possible evacuations and rescues. Heed all flood watches and warnings. Flooding could lead to swollen rivers, overflowing creeks, and inundation in low-lying areas, making driving hazardous and causing road closures. Tornadoes are not expected at this time.
