BCMS Seventh-Graders Tour Nanotechnology Lab at UAlbany
Thirty-six seventh-graders from Bethlehem Central Middle School toured the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at the University at Albany on Friday, April 17, to explore careers in nanotechnology.
Students enrolled in the school's Engineering Basics course visited the Albany Nanotech Complex, attended lectures from CNSE professors and graduate students, and tried on cleanroom suits worn by manufacturing workers. The field trip exposed them to career paths combining engineering, science, and manufacturing. Nanotechnology involves manipulating materials at the molecular and atomic level for applications in electronics, medicine, and energy production.
