Dr. Stone earned her Doctor of Behavioral Health at Arizona State University, College of Health Sciences. Dr. Stone is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Collaborative Family Healthcare Association, and the American Counseling Association. Dr. Stone has always had a strong interest in psychology, human behavior, wellness, and helping others live their best life possible by overcoming and managing difficult issues and life stressors. Coinciding with her interests, she acknowledges the mind-body-spirit connection and the effect one system has on the other. Experienced in mental health counseling and private practice, along with fitness and wellness training, she now finds multiple benefits in integrated primary care using the team approach to treating her patients. Throughout her education and training, she found that individualized treatment and collaborative care are critical in the behavioral health field. Jenna decided she wanted to be in the mental health field during her undergraduate years. However, it wasn’t until her internship that she solidified her decision after learning more about behavioral health and its importance. When Jenna first began as an intern, providing behavioral health services to children and their families, she realized how much she enjoys working in the field and how fulfilling it was. What she found most interesting during her training is learning about child behavioral health and how counseling differs between children and adults. Jenna loves being able to do something she is so passionate about while also helping others improve their overall quality of life. Jenna believes listening and paying attention to her patient’s needs is the most important thing she can do. She finds working with children most rewarding because she thinks they are such a vulnerable population. She likes helping them identify the necessary tools and skills that can help them for a lifetime. In her spare time, Jenna enjoys outdoor activities with her dog, has a strong love for music and singing, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a member of the Schenectady Veterans Club. Madison Akins-Rock, LMHC Madison Akins-Rock is a Mental Health Counselor and works as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) in Integrated Behavioral Health. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and healthcare team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible. Madison’s background includes individual counseling focusing primarily on pediatrics and family counseling with parents and children. She has worked with individuals with a wide variety of mental/ behavioral health issues, including depression, anxiety, stress management, ADHD, and sleep disturbance. Madison also holds a certificate in interdisciplinary trauma studies. In addition to her experience at our Integrated Behavioral Health practice, she also worked at Northern Rivers with children and adolescents with various mental and behavioral issues, as well as working with parents on parent skill training and behavioral interventions for their children. Madison has always enjoyed helping others in any way she can, being an ear for those in need, and providing guidance and support to others. She is passionate about promoting mental health awareness and normalizing behavioral health. In doing this, she particularly enjoys helping to end the stigma around mental illness by educating children, adolescents, and parents and providing them with an opportunity to freely explore their emotions and experiences and work towards becoming the best version of themselves. Madison volunteers as a youth basketball coach each year to give back to her hometown. She also enjoys exercising, watching, coaching, and playing basketball, bringing her dog Celtic on walks and hikes, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and being on the beach whenever possible! Dr. Kevin Martin, aptihealth Dr. Kevin Martin is the Chief Psychiatric Officer of aptihealth. He joined aptihealth from Four Winds Saratoga psychiatric hospital where he served as Chief Medical Officer. Prior to that he held senior leadership positions in community mental health and child welfare. Dr. Martin is board certified in general adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. A highly regarded clinical team leader, his 30 years of experience encompasses both adult and child/adolescent treatment in private and public settings across multiple levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, residential, partial hospital, intensive outpatient, as well as consultation in school and juvenile justice settings. In addition to his clinical work, he is a trainer and educator. He has taught physicians-in-training in pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child/adolescent psychiatry, and presented to professional and lay audiences. Market 32 and Price Chopper Launch Spring Drive to Support Local Food Pantries Market 32 and Price Chopper invite guests across their footprint to help support local food pantries and families in need through a convenient, in-store food drive. From March 15–April 4, guests can purchase a $10 pre-packed grocery bag filled with essential PICS brand items that food pantries consistently identify as most needed. Each bag includes a 16-ounce box of elbow macaroni, a 16-ounce jar of peanut butter, a 10.5-ounce can of chicken noodle soup, a 5-ounce can of tuna, a 15.5-ounce can of kidney beans, a 15.25-ounce can of white corn, and a 5-ounce can of chunk chicken.Each Market 32 and Price Chopper store will donate the collected bags to a local food pantry serving its community. Store teams coordinate with neighborhood organizations to ensure the food stays local and reaches families in need as quickly as possible. Bethlehem Central Giveaway Weekend May 8-10
The Bethlehem Central Green Team will host the fourth annual Giveaway Weekend in the Town of Bethlehem from Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 10. Recycling and reducing waste are great, but what about reusing? We all have items that are still good, but we have no use for. Start preparing now, set aside gently used items you no longer need but that still have plenty of life left. Put them out on Friday, May 8, for others to take, and look around town all weekend, maybe you’ll find something you need! Visit the Community Giveaway Weekend Item Registration form here to list your giveaway items. Event Guidelines: Hours for the event are 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 8th – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 10th. Items to be given away should be placed at the end of participants’ personal driveway or curb ONLY. Event flier should be printed out and displayed with items, so that items intended to be given away are clearly labeled and no one accidentally takes unintended items. It is the sole responsibility of the homeowner to place items out and remove them by 5:00 p.m. Sunday. The Town will NOT collect any leftover items. Respect for personal boundaries is required; participants should rummage at designated curb sites only and at no time should anyone enter private property. BCHS Senior to Compete in NYS Welding Contest
BCHS senior Owen VanVranken Four area high school students will put their welding skills to the test against the best of the best from across the state during a competition on May 2 in Albany. One of the four is BCHS senior Owen VanVranken. VanVranken will join a trio of classmates from the Capital Region BOCES Welding and Metal Fabrication program on May 2 as they compete in the New York State Thruway Cup welding competition at the Career and Technical Education Center – Albany campus. They will compete against the best youth welders from the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and the Twin Tiers regions of the state. VanVranken won the right to compete in the state competition by earning a third-place finish in a highly competitive regional welding contest, where he outperformed several student welders. Glenmont Second Graders Qualify for NYS Math Tournament
A team of second graders from Glenmont Elementary School has qualified for the NYS Math Tournament, sponsored by the New York State Education Department and First in Math. Congratulations to Breanna L., Zephyra M., and Oliver D., who are pictured above. “Qualifying is quite an accomplishment,” said Principal Laura Heffernan. “There are only 10 qualifying teams for each grade level from across the state. “Glenmont School has had a team participate since First in Math started the tournament four years ago,” said Principal Heffernan. “This is Breanna and Zephyra’s second time qualifying for the state competition.” The team earned the school a $1,000 prize and a plaque, and the students each received a trophy. The statewide competition will be held in Albany on June 13. We wish them the best of luck! Backpack Program gets a surprise Brownie boost

These backpacks are distributed every Friday as part of the BC Weekend Backpack Program. The districtwide program is available to help families address food insecurity over the weekend, ensuring that students have access to nutritious snacks and easy-to-make meals outside of school hours. On April 17, the weekly effort included a special addition. Every backpack contained a surprise box of Girl Scout cookies, thanks to the generosity and initiative of Brownie Troop 5067. The scouts – including students from Eagle, Hamagrael and Slingerlands – sold an additional 146 boxes of cookies specifically to donate to the program, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the school community they love. In addition to their donation, members of Troop 5067 visited the high school to take part in the early-morning backpack assembly process. Working alongside the older students, the Brownies helped fill backpacks and gained firsthand experience in community service and collaboration. Well done, Troop 5067, and many thanks to the members of the BCHS Student Senate who ensure the backpacks are full every week of the year! ALANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Native American, Allies) is a student-led organization at Bethlehem Central High School dedicated to celebrating diversity, promoting cultural awareness, and creating an inclusive and supportive community for all students. Through events, discussions, and outreach, ALANA works to highlight different cultures and uplift underrepresented voices within our school. As part of this mission, ALANA is hosting an Asian American Pacific Islander Food Festival on May 29th at 5:30 PM at Bethlehem Central High School. This event will celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Asian and Pacific Islander communities through food, bringing students, families, and staff together in a meaningful way. We are inviting teachers, students, and parents to contribute by donating a dish, homemade or store-bought, or utensils (plates, bowls, napkins, fork, spoons & knives) to help make this event a success. Use this Google Form to donate a dish or supplies. Bethlehem Central Giveaway Weekend May 8-10
" The Bethlehem Central Green Team will host the fourth annual Giveaway Weekend in the Town of Bethlehem from Friday, May 8, through Sunday, May 10. Recycling and reducing waste are great, but what about reusing? We all have items that are still good, but we have no use for. Start preparing now, set aside gently used items you no longer need but that still have plenty of life left. Put them out on Friday, May 8, for others to take, and look around town all weekend, maybe you’ll find something you need! Visit the Community Giveaway Weekend Item Registration form here to list your giveaway items. Event Guidelines: Hours for the event are 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 8th – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 10th. Items to be given away should be placed at the end of participants’ personal driveway or curb ONLY. Event flier should be printed out and displayed with items, so that items intended to be given away are clearly labeled and no one accidentally takes unintended items. It is the sole responsibility of the homeowner to place items out and remove them by 5:00 p.m. Sunday. The Town will NOT collect any leftover items. Respect for personal boundaries is required; participants should rummage at designated curb sites only and at no time should anyone enter private property.
