Life-Threatening Storm Surge and Winds for Baldwin Central

A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Baldwin Central, including Daphne, Fairhope, and Foley, effective immediately, October 9, 2026, at 7:27 AM CDT. The National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL warns of a life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground, extensive wind damage, and major flooding.

Residents in surge-prone areas must remain sheltered in a safe location. Ordered evacuations should be complete. Winds are forecasted at 25-35 mph with gusts up to 70 mph, with a potential for hurricane-force winds (74-110 mph). Urgent completion of efforts to protect life and property is advised, with movement to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 3-6 inches of rain expected, potentially causing major flooding, evacuations, and rescues. Tornadoes are also possible. The warning remains in effect until 3:30 PM UTC today.
