A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Baldwin Central, including Daphne, Fairhope, and Foley, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL, effective immediately as of October 8 at 4:14 AM CDT. This is an extreme threat, urging immediate action for residents in affected areas.

Life-threatening storm surge of 4-7 feet above ground is possible, with potential for over 6 feet in surge-prone areas, from Friday morning until Saturday morning. Evacuation efforts should be completed now. Leave immediately if evacuation orders are given to avoid being cut off from emergency services.

Tropical Storm force winds (45-55 mph with gusts to 70 mph) are expected from Friday afternoon until early Saturday morning. There is a potential for winds of 74 to 110 mph. Residents should move to safe shelter before winds become hazardous. Extensive damage to roofs, mobile homes, and trees is possible, leading to widespread power outages and impassable roads.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with 3-6 inches of rain anticipated, leading to potential major flooding. Heed all flood watches and warnings. The NWS also warns of several possible tornadoes, with some potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly.
